MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — On Tuesday, the Berkeley County Commission adopted
a levy rate of 13.39 for the upcoming 2024-2025 fiscal year, leaving the rate unchanged from
the current year.
A press release from the Commission reports the levy rate for 2024-2025 is projected to generate $28,915,496 million in property taxes in
support of Berkeley County’s next fiscal year budget to help fund County government services.
For Fiscal Year 2024-2025, the county’s total budget estimate is $51,044,496, a figure that
includes miscellaneous revenue.
“Working in a fiscally responsible manner, we were able to keep our levy rates the same as last
year,” Berkeley County Commission President Jim Whitacre said.
The 2024-2025 Fiscal Year begins on July 1, 2024 and ends on June 30, 2025. The 2024-2025
Fiscal Year budget includes allocations for 68 uniformed law enforcement positions, 22 paid
