UPDATE — Following are some road closures that have come into the Panhandle News Network news room this afternoon. As they always caution, local emergency services are warning motorists if they come upon standing water in a roadway, “Turn around, Don’t drown.”
HAGERSTOWN, MD (April 3, 2024) – The Washington County Highway Department announces the following road closures due to high water:
Cresspond Road
Pecktonville Rd at Licking Creek
The County reminds citizens to drive with caution on roads that have the potential to flood. If water has flooded the roadway, please turn around and do not try to drive through it.

–The 500 block of Henshaw Road in Bunker Hill is closed due to high water at the I81 underpass
–The 2000 block of Douglas Grove Road in Martinsburg is closed due to high water
–The 3000 block of Allensville Road in Hedgesville is closed due to high water
–The 800 block of Baxter Road in Hedgesville is closed due to high water
In Morgan County:
The Department of Highways has reported that Johnson’s Mill Rd and Powerhouse Rd low water bridges are closed due to flooding conditions.
