SUMMIT POINT, W.Va. — A pedestrian is recovering from injuries after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening.
The West Virginia State Police say they were called to the intersection of Summit Point Road and Shirley Road in Jefferson County around 7 p.m. Wednesday for a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.
“Upon arrival, Trooper B.S. Barker discovered a 2012 Chevrolet Express van driven by Matthew Devaney, 49, of Charles Townhad been travelling North bound on Summit Point Road and had struck a pedestrian who was walking along the right shoulder.
The pedestrian, identified as Francis Senftle, a 66-year-old male from Summit Point, was “alert and conscious and was transported by JCESA to Jefferson Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.”
The driver of the van was not injured in the incident.
The investigation into the incident is “still on-going,” according to the West Virginia State Police.
