MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The Berkeley County Board of Education met February 19th.  Our reporter, Al Gaige filed this report:

At Monday night’s Berkeley County Board of Education meeting, the board heard from Director of Alternative Programs Dave Marchette, who gave a report about the Transitional School:

The program deals mostly with kids who run the risk of getting into trouble as they make the transition from teenagers to adults.

Also at Monday night’s Berkeley County Board of Education meeting, the board heard from Superintendent Ronald Stephens providing a bond project update:

Additionally, the superintendent says by the end of the full year after funds became available, they’ll be at 60% completion.

The board also heard from Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Tana Burkhart regarding Berkeley County File KG: Community Involvement
to Complement Education for approval.

 

The policy was out for public review and comment from Jan. 23-Feb. 6 , and as Burkhart said, received no comments.  The policy was approved by the board.
