MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — At Thursday’s Berkeley County Council meeting, Jennifer Smith, Berkeley County’s Development Authority Executive Director provided an update to the North TIF District:
The TIF is a public financing method that is used as a subsidy for redevelopment, infrastructure, and other community improvement projects. The Commission approved the request. The Commission also heard budget requests from the Roundhouse Authority, Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority, Eastern Regional Airport Authority, Historical Landmarks Commission, and the Apollo Civic Theatre
At Thursday’s Berkeley County Commission meeting, Anthony Delligatti, Legal Director for the County explained a request for Putting a Fire Fee Amendment on the Primary Ballot in May.
After a great deal of discussion regarding the increase to some businesses, the Commission decided to let the voters decide May 14th. The Commission also heard budget requests from the Roundhouse Authority, Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority, Eastern Regional Airport Authority, Historical Landmarks Commission, and the Apollo Civic Theatre.
The Berkeley County Pride Organization is disbanding. At Thursday’s Berkeley County Commission meeting, the Commission heard from Bill Stubblefield from the organization, who talked about a roadside litter vacuum.
The Litter Collection Device, which is basically a roadside vacuum will enable the county’s litter efforts to keep the roadside litter to a minimum. The Commission also heard budget requests from the Roundhouse Authority, Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority, Eastern Regional Airport Authority, Historical Landmarks Commission, and the Apollo Civic Theatre
