INWOOD, W.Va. — There will be plenty of holiday cheer to be found in the Eastern Panhandle this upcoming week.
On Saturday, Inwood will host the lighting of the South Berkeley Christmas Tree. The tree lighting will be held Saturday Dec 2nd beginning at 5:30 pm. with Dwight Daugherty serving as the emcee. Anyone who has previously purchased a memory apple for a loved one is asked to be on hand to place their memory apple around the tree.
The South Berkeley Christmas Parade will be the following day, Sunday December 3.
The event announcement for the parade says roads will close at 1:50 p.m. with the South Berkeley 5K set to start at 2:00 pm. The parade will step off at approximately 2:15-2:30.
“The parade route this year will be the same as last year, only change is of course the new roundabout at Taylor Farms/Cider Press,” according to the announcement, which includes a map of the route. The parade is set to last between two and a half to three hours.
In Morgan County, the Paw Paw Christmas Parade is also set for Sunday.
The Paw Paw Parade Committee has announced the parade will step off at 4:30 p.m. and will feature Santa and his elves, the Grinch, and a hot cocoa stand.
Lineup begins at 4:00pm at 583 Winchester St. in Paw Paw.
This year there are five cash prizes for “Santa’s Best Helpers” during the parade.
The City of Charles Town is also getting into the Christmas spirit, announcing that on Friday, December 1st, they’ll kick the season off with the “Merry and Bright” celebration.
The event announcement says ornament making will start at 4:30 p.m.
Then, at 6:00 p.m., the tree lighting gets underway. “Special Guests: Santa, Kevin, and The Bandits.”
On Saturday, December 2nd, it’s the Charles Town/Ranson Christmas Parade beginning at 2:00 p.m. after Santa comes off the United Bank Roof at 1:45.
Town of Bolivar Christmas Parade
The Annual Community Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday, December 9 starting at 4pm; followed by Tree Lighting Festivities at the Bolivar’s Children’s Park. All are welcome to participate!
The City of Martinsburg will host Christmas on Main December 2nd from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. featuring live Christmas music, food trucks, a Christmas Market, ice skating rink, Santa Claus’s arrival, and the 2023 Christmas Tree lighting ceremony.
Jingle Downtown is back December 4th benefiting Christmas Cash for Kids.
The Martinsburg Christmas Parade steps off Tuesday, December 5th downtown.
