BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — Morgan County EMS says many residents are smelling smoke, but the fire may not be in the immediate area. 
A post from the service this week says Morgan County along with several surrounding counties are receiving multiple calls for “smoke in the area.”
“There is a large wildfire in Virginia with smoke spreading this way as noted below, the smoke plume has entered the southern part of Morgan County,” the post says.
“Just be aware of this situation,” the EMS service says. “You may see a haze or smell smoke. That said do NOT hesitate to report columns of smoke so they can be investigated.”
Those with breathing or respiratory issues are advised to be cautious outside.
