MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Recognizing that fall brings with it some extra yard chores and piles of leaves to dispose of, the city of Martinsburg has some tips for city residents.
An announcement from the city says, “The City of Martinsburg requests residents and businesses to bag their leaves when collected from their respective properties. Bagged leaves may be placed curbside for pickup with regular garbage collection.”
“Leaves should not be placed in the City right-of-way, raked or blown into the City streets/curbs or sidewalks right-of-way,” according to the announcement. “Leaves in the right-of-way may cause the storm drains to become clogged as well as create safety issues and concerns for both pedestrian and vehicular traffic.”
“The City of Martinsburg appreciates the community’s cooperation in this matter.”
