MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A new transit center planned for Martinsburg has transportation officials hopeful.

Elaine Bartoldson, Executive Director, EPTA says the new transit center in Martinsburg is starting to come together.  It will be located at the corner of Race and Raleigh Streets.

She talked about what the new facility will feature.

Matt Mullenex is the Executive Director of the Hagerstown-Eastern Panhandle Metropolitan Planning Organization.  He talked about the need for a new transit center.

Bartoldson said  passenger numbers have increased to pre-pandemic levels.

For his part, Mullenex says this is a major transportation project for the area.
