HAGERSTOWN, MD — A crash Wednesday night on the Dual Highway in Hagerstown claimed the life of the driver and injured a passenger.
Lt. Rebecca Fetchu of the Hagerstown Police Department says officers responded to the 500 block of Dual Highway for a vehicle crash around 9:45 p.m.
Police say a 2007 BMW sedan left the eastbound travel lane and struck a tree on the south side of the road.
The driver, identified as 22-year-old Daniel Worthy of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania was transported to Meritus Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
A 22-year-old female from Hagerstown was a passenger in the vehicle. She sustained non life threatening injuries.
An investigation in to the cause of the crash is underway.
