HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. — As the sitting attorney general for the state, Patrick Morrisey is making a calculated risk in his bid to become West Virginia’s next governor.

In the 2018 election cycle when he ran against and was defeated by Joe Manchin in the US Senate race, he still could go safely back to his position as AG, as he wasn’t up for reelection.

Our Luke Wiggs asked Morrisey about it Tuesday as Morrisey made his announcement in Harpers Ferry.

Meanwhile, State Senator and former United States Attorney for the Southern District Mike Stuart may be making official soon a bid to run for the Attorney General position.
