HAGERSTOWN, MD — The Hagerstown City Council is back up to five members again, that after Matthew J. Schindler was sworn in as the newest Hagerstown City Councilmember.

Schindler was one of  five applicants for the vacant Hagerstown City Council seat of former Councilmember and current Mayor Tekesha Martinez.

Schindler has served on the City’s Ethics Commission since August of 2021, and during his interview expressed that it was his love for Hagerstown that lit a fire in him to apply for the vacant Council seat.
