BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — Fresh off of Tuesday’s election day, state lawmakers begin three days of interim committee meetings Sunday afternoon at Cacapon Resort State Park near Berkeley Springs.
The ‘on location’ interim meetings marks the second time this year members of the House of Delegates and state Senate have held monthly meetings away from the state capitol. The meetings were held in Morgantown in May.
The list of meetings is somewhat scaled back with only 16 scheduled over the three-day period.
Five meetings are set for Sunday beginning at 1 p.m.
The first meeting will focus on the McChrystal Group recently completed review of the state Department of Health and Human Resources.
Sunday’s meetings will also include discussion on infrastructure, finance, education and natural resources.
There are six meetings scheduled for Monday beginning at 1 p.m. There are five meetings on the schedule for Tuesday also beginning at 1 p.m.
Lawmakers will return to the state capitol for interim meetings in early December. The 60-day legislative session for the new legislature begins Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023.
