MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The U.S. Marshals on Wednesday arrested a man wanted for attempted
murder. Christian Callahan, 23, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for attempted first
degree murder and conspiracy stemming from Feb. 17 shooting incident in the 500 block of
Winchester Avenue.
On Sept. 27, the Berkeley County Prosecutor’s Office requested assistance from the U.S.
Marshals in locating Callahan.

They believed Callahan was staying in the 600 block of Winchester Avenue. With assistance from
the Berkeley County Sheriffs Office SWAT team and the Martinsburg Police Department
Special Response Team in executing the warrant. Callahan was taken into custody at
approximately 12:15 p.m. without incident.
“The U.S. Marshals Service appreciates the assistance and collaboration between the
Berkeley County Sheriffs Office SWAT team and the Martinsburg Police Department SRT
team,” said Terry Moore, acting U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of West Virginia. “The
teamwork demonstrated between these two highly trained units led to the safe apprehension of
this dangerous fugitive.”
The law enforcement agencies involved in Callahan’s arrest of Callahan were the Berkeley
County Sheriff’s Office, Martinsburg Police Department, FBI Drug Task Force, and U.S.
Marshals Service.
Callahan is being held at the Eastern Regional Jail. Additional information on this case may be
