MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Public school students in the Eastern Panhandle are getting out of school early on Friday and have the day off Monday.

Morgan County Schools a scheduled 2hr early dismissal for students on Friday, October 7th and there is no school for students on Monday, October 10th for staff professional learning.

Jefferson County Schools will dismiss students two hours early on Friday as well. The district announced earlier this month that they will be altering their curriculum strategies for grades 3 through 5 to respond to test scores from the WVGSA and are giving teachers the afternoon to discuss those changes. On Monday, students in Jefferson County Schools have the day off for a “Professional Learning Day.”

In Berkeley County schools, students will dismiss early on Friday for a Faculty Senate day. Monday, BCS students have the day off for a Professional Learning Day / Data Team Meeting
Teacher Collaboration and Professional Development Day for staff.
