BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — A domestic call turned into a drug arrest in Morgan County Thursday.

Morgan County Sheriff KC Bohrer tells The Panhandle News Network the original call came in just after noon Thursday for a domestic in progress on Betty’s Lane.

Cpl. Shambaugh and Sheriff Bohrer responded and spoke with a female subject who said her son had assaulted her.

The 16-year-old son said his mother assaulted him.

Officers spotted a large quantity of packaged marijuana (described as over a pound) was seen by officers on the dining room table along with other drug distribution implements.

“Both mother and son were taken into custody and illegal substances seized,” said Sheriff Bohrer in a statement.

During a subsequent search of the home, more controlled substances were found as well as medications belonging to patients at a local nursing home facility.

Stacie M. Schaff, 38, of Betty’s Lane in Berkeley Springs was charged with one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled substances and Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance. She was arraigned before Magistrate Miller and incarcerated on $ 20,00.00 bond in the Eastern Regional Jail.

The 16-year-old juvenile male charged as a delinquent “based on the same violations of law,” according to Sheriff Bohrer.

The juvenile was taken to a juvenile detention facility

Sheriff Bohrer says an investigation is continuing with further charges anticipated.
