BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. – A Morgan County man is dead, reportedly of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after an incident Thursday.
Morgan County Sheriff KC Bohrer reports deputies were called to Jim West Road just after 11:30 Thursday night (September the 1st) to a reported verbal domestic.
A female caller had said a man identified as Scottie Rhodes, age 31, was threatening to kill himself.
He had told the woman he had a gun.
Officers were getting out of their vehicles at the man’s residence when they heard the sound of a gunshot.
The sheriff and Chief Deputy Walter responded for backup.
Maryland Aviation Trooper 5 and a K-9 unit from Berkeley County assisted on the scene.
Rhodes was located, deceased. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
