MARTINSBURG, M.Va. — CFB Network has ranked Shepherd University Football outside of the top 5 in their 2022 Division 2 Preseason Top 25 Poll. The Rams sit at 6 in the rankings, behind North West Missouri State, Colorado Mines, Grand Valley State, Valdosta State, and National Champions Ferris State.
Shepherd falling outside of the top 5 is somewhat surprising, given that the Rams return OL Joey Fisher, who is getting national attention after a productive 2021 season, and 2021 Harlon Hill Award winner QB Tyson Bagent.
Shepherd was the highest ranked PSAC team in the poll, with Kutztown coming in at number 13 and Cal (Pa) ranked 19.
Another notable local team to make the list was Frostburg State who makes the list at 25
