MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The Berkeley 250th Commemoration Committee has announced a countywide project to spruce things up ahead of the big celebration.

They are inviting individuals and groups to pick a day or more than one to join a countywide cleanup and beautification project.

The cleanup effort begins May 14th and goes through the 21st.

It’s aimed at “making Berkeley County shine!” according to the announcement. ” As part of our year-long 250th birthday celebration, were inviting residents businesses, community organizations and other groups are welcome to join the effort, from May 14 to May 21 – no matter how large or small the project may be!”

The group will have daily litter cleanup challenges in collaboration with WV Litter Busters and special free recycling collection events, including a “bulky item” collection program for items such as furniture!
