KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. — There’s some good news to pass along after an adoption event Friday for some of the dogs seized in a hoarding case out of Jefferson County.

Jefferson County Animal Control seized 49 dogs and 14 cats in two separate seizures March 11th.

On Friday, Rescue Me, West Virginia held a foster and adoption event in conjunction with Jefferson County Animal Control.

An update from the rescue says out of the dozen dogs they had available at the event, five went to foster-to-adopt homes and five more have applications that are being processed.

RescueMe West Virginia said even the sheriff showed up at the event. They expressed appreciation to everyone who came out as well as their volunteers.
