CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice has tested positive for the coronavirus and is, according to his staff, “very ill.”

The governor is fully vaccinated and boosted. He reportedly received monoclonal antibody treatment due to his age.

The Governor’s Office late Tuesday announced Justice opted to get tested after experiencing “the sudden onset of symptoms,” including congestion and coughing.

Governor Justice had to cancel a planned major economic announcement and his annual State of the State Address, both originally scheduled for Wednesday.
