MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — There’s an update in the shooting death Tuesday of a tractor-trailer driver on I-81 in Berkeley County following an alleged road rage incident.

Berkeley County Sheriff Nathan Harmon says investigators have charged a 66 year old Georgia man in connection to the earlymorning on Interstate 81 near Marlowe. Harold Rue, of Gwinnett, GA, was charged with one count of murder and is currently being held in Pennsylvania. Rue will be held in Pennsylvania until he is extradited back to West Virginia.

The shooting is believed to have occurred after a road rage incident between Rue and another trucker. The shooting occurred at the 23 mile marker northbound after both truckers pull off onto the shoulder of the interstate. Rue fled the scene after shooting the other trucker and traveled northbound on Interstate 81.

Investigators received information about Rue’s vehicle from witnesses. That information was then shared with authorities in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Rue was taken into custody a short time later in Carlisle, PA. Berkeley County investigators then traveled to Pennsylvania and worked with Pennsylvania State Police to recover evidence from the shooting.

The victim has been identified as 29 year old Reynaldo Gonzalez Mediavilla, of Hialeah, Florida.

The investigation is still ongoing and Rue could face more criminal charges after being returned to West Virginia.
