BALTIMORE, MD — Wind and Fire Advisories from the National Weather Service for the region have been revised.
The National Weather Service says the wind advisory goes into effect from 10 a.m Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday.
West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
Areas affected include Washington County Maryland, Frederick County Virginia as well as Hampshire, Morgan, Berkeley and Hardy Counties in West Virginia.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.
Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Careful driving, especially high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
Relative low humidity and dry conditions create ‘favorable conditions’ for the rapid spread of fires.
–Do not start a campfire or ignite a burn pile or burn trash
Avoid using equipment like lawnmowers/chainsaw that may emit sparks.
Do not dispose of cigarette butts on the ground or outside of your car.
