BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — The trial of a Morgan County man in the death of a Berkeley Springs teenager has been postponed until September because of COVID-19 case.
The Morgan Messenger reports Morgan County Circuit Judge Debra McLaughlin agreed late last week to to postpone the trial of Andy McCauley which was scheduled to begin Monday.
McCauley, 43, of Berkeley Springs, allegedly killed Riley Crossman, 15, also of Berkeley Springs, two years ago next month.
The trial was postponed because a primary person involved with the trial recently tested positive for COVID-19. The trial has been reset for Sept. 27.
McCauley remains in the Eastern Regional Jail without bail.
