MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — WVU Medicine East is teaming up with health departments in Berkeley and Jefferson Counties to assist those signed up on the statewide vaccinate.wv.gov site to secure their appointments.

Berkeley/Morgan Health Department Chief Bill Kearns says, “Working with WVU and Berkeley Medical Center, we are collecting people registered through the state’s Everbridge system, and then WVU is working with us on getting a notification system out to people so they can be notified to get registered for our clinics in Berkeley County. I’m assuming a very similar system is working in the Jefferson County area as well. Now within Morgan County, the County is working with us to get people notified about our clinics and also through social media.”
For those who are still waiting for a vaccine, Kearns says, “Hang in there. More vaccine is coming out. Right now we’re just trying to get this out to our community-based clinics which are large in size, but more vaccine is coming out each and every day and pretty soon those vaccines are going to be more readily available through your local pharmacies, through your primary care physicians. It’s coming out there. Just have patience with us.”
