16th District Senator Rucker Wants to Be Senate President

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — Saying it’s time to move in a new direction, 16th District Senator Patricia Rucker (R – Jefferson)says she’s the right person to be Senate President.

Rucker made the announcement on Wednesday’s Talkline with Hoppy Kercheval.

She touted her work to get school choice initiatives through and her ability to work with colleagues in the House:

Rucker would have to unseat sitting Senate President Craig Blair (R – Berkeley County), who has been in that position since 2020.

The vote will take place in the state senate following the general election.

Senator Craig Blair will be a guest on Thursday’s MetroNews Talkline with Hoppy Kercheval.
