Potomac Edison Files Major Event Report after March Wind Storms

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Calling it a “major storm event,” Potomac Edison has filed a report with the West Virginia Public Service Commission regarding power outages and damages from a string of wind storms that rolled through the Eastern Panhandle March 20th.

The winds hit the areas of Martinsburg, Berkeley Springs, Fort Ashby, Augusta, and Petersburg with gusts of up to 59 miles an hour, knocked down trees and damaged power poles.  The storm affected power to 8,367 customers, which was not fully restored in the area until March 22nd.
